Use Altus for Project with multiple Entra ID tenants
Use this guidance when you need to link a Microsoft Project file to Altus and you have access to multiple Microsoft Entra ID tenants.
The setting that controls this is Prompt for Microsoft account when linking a project in Linked Project Settings.

When to turn this setting on
Turn this setting on when:
- You have access to multiple Entra ID tenants
- Your normal sign-in account is not in the same tenant as the target Altus (Dataverse) environment
- You need to choose a different Microsoft account during the link process
When enabled, Altus for Project prompts you to select the Microsoft account to use when linking a project.
When to leave this setting off
Leave this setting off when:
- You only use one Entra ID tenant
- Your normal Microsoft account already matches the target Altus environment tenant
For most users, this setting should remain off.
Link using a different tenant account
- In Microsoft Project, open the Altus ribbon.
- Click Linked Project Settings.
- Tick Prompt for Microsoft account when linking a project.
- Click Link Altus Project.
- When prompted, select the Microsoft account that belongs to the target Altus (Dataverse) tenant.
- Select the Altus environment.
- Click Next.
- Select the Altus project.
- Click Connect.
Recommendation
Only enable this setting when required for multi-tenant linking.
If your day-to-day usage is single-tenant, leave it off to avoid extra sign-in prompts.
