Custom Component Support
Altus extends the standard Dynamics 365 platform with custom components that provide specialised views and interactions for project management, financials, scheduling, and dashboards. These components have varying levels of language and regional support.
Support Status by Capability
| Area | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Currency display | ✅ Supported | Custom financial components use platform-aware formatting and respect user currency settings. |
| Number formatting | ✅ Supported | Financial grids and numeric displays use the platform formatting API, respecting regional decimal and thousands separators. |
| Date display in platform forms | ✅ Supported | Standard Dynamics date fields on forms respect the user's regional date format settings. |
| Date display in custom components | ⚠️ Partial | Some custom components — including the Timesheet, Dashboard, and Financials views — display dates using fixed English formats rather than the user's regional preference. |
| Date picker controls | ⚠️ Partial | Calendar controls in custom components display month and day names in English only, regardless of user language settings. |
| Custom component labels and text | ❌ Not yet available | The infrastructure for translating component labels is in place, however English is currently the only active language. Request your language here |
| Error and notification messages | ❌ Not yet available | All error messages and notifications within custom components are displayed in English only. |
| Right-to-left (RTL) layout | ❌ Not yet available | Custom components do not currently support right-to-left text layout required by languages such as Arabic and Hebrew. |
| Server-side data processing | ❌ Not yet available | Schedule imports (e.g. from MPP files) and bulk data processing may interpret dates and numbers based on the server's locale rather than the user's personal settings. |
Understanding the Status Levels
- ✅ Supported — The capability works correctly and respects user or organisation regional settings.
- ⚠️ Partial — The capability works but may not fully respect regional settings in all areas. Specific limitations are documented in Known Limitations.
- ❌ Not yet available — The capability has not yet been implemented in Altus custom components. These items are on our development roadmap.
