Altus Release Notes

Updates to Altus are deployed in sequence through a series of environments; Canary, 1st Release and General Availability. This allows the updates to be tested prior to applying them to customer environments.

Bug #39128 Altus Tasks: Addressed an issue whereby moving a task to a Done bucket might not set percent complete to 100% in some circumstances. 🟢Low
Bug #39206 Resolved an authentication issue in Altus for Teams where users with environments containing hyphens and ending in ".crm.dynamics.com" could not create project groups. The validation logic was updated to correctly handle these domain formats, ensuring seamless group creation for all supported environments. 🟢Low

PBI #35700 We have simplified the creation of Evaluation Criteria in SPM Prioritisation - now we allow entry of negative values and positive values into a given Evaluation Criteria. These will be coloured in their corresponding Red and Green, these colours will be reflected all the way through to Prioritisation Plan where the selected colour will be updated. The change also updates how scores are represented on the Score tooltip it now sums up the values in order they are added to the Plan. 🟡Medium

Bug #35613 In SPM Optimisation, resolved an issue where moving a large number of initiatives from IN to OUT caused a failure. When moving 10 or more Initiatives to IN or OUT, the user is now shown a loading message to visually represent that a change is happening while the request is processed. 🟢Low

Bug #36620 Resolved an issue where dependencies with 'Start to Start', 'Start to Finish', or 'Finish to Finish' schedule types did not update the successor task's start date to match the predecessor. The logic has been corrected so that successor dates now update as expected when these dependencies are created. 🟡Medium
Bug #38656 Fixed an issue where the 'Disable Resource Assignment to Owning Group Synchronisation' setting did not function in Altus Tasks module, causing resources not to be automatically added to the project owner group. The synchronization now works as expected, ensuring consistent group membership management. 🟢Low
Bug #38657 Rectified an issue where date fields in Altus Tasks module required inconsistent formats for entry and display. All date fields now use a consistent DD/MM/YYYY format, ensuring users can enter and view dates seamlessly throughout the application. 🟢Low
PBI #38711 Introducing a new PCF control: Altus Copilot Field, allowing users to generate or edit text field values with context-aware summaries. This enhancement streamlines data entry and improves accuracy by leveraging AI assistance directly within model-driven apps. 🟢Low
Bug #38743 Resolved an issue where start dates for manually scheduled and auto tasks could not be updated via the Gantt chart. Users can now successfully update start dates directly in the Gantt view. 🟡Medium

This release replaces the existing Altus homepage and brings improved navigation, faster access to work items, and configuration options for custom registers.

This update introduces a simplified menu structure that consolidates key areas: Work, Projects, and Portfolios, into a unified Initiatives section, reducing clutter and making it easier to find what you need. The refreshed navigation also removes redundant links, streamlines access to Strategy and Resources, and ensures a consistent layout across devices. These changes are designed to help users stay oriented, minimise clicks, and improve overall productivity.

Bug #38891 🌞 Restored Protobuf dependency that is being removed from some Microsoft environments.
Use Altus release with this fix:
  • if you encounter error message related to Protobuf during deployment
  • or when users attempt to use the Sync Now button when trying to synchronise Planner Premium schedule (the sync fails and displays an error message).
Version 2025.11.4.3 is a patch to First Release.
Version 2025.11.4.4 is for Canary version that also has all the new features (new Altus Home Page, new Altus Scheduling Engine and Improved Navigation).
Update: As per 11 Nov 2025, version 2025.11.04.3 is promoted to General Availability and 2025.11.04.4 is promoted to First Release.

This feature is still opt-in so contact your partner to request this be enabled. 🟢Low
Bug #36494 Resolved an issue where the user picker on the Project Quick Create form failed to filter out disabled users and hit the 5000 record OData query limit, preventing some users from being found. The control now properly filters users, handles large datasets, and displays email addresses for easier identification. 🟡Medium

PBI #35840 To enhance strategy reporting, a new custom lookup field named 'Primary Goal' was added to the Project table. As needed for your scenario it can be added to the form. 🟢Low
PBI #35882 We have implemented a custom theme for Altus. It is set at the app level and if required can be overwritten by creating a solution layer on top of the internal label 'sensei_CustomTheme'.
Partners can also manage themes for clients directly in their environment, giving full flexibility for a tailored look and feel.

NFI #35771 A new Kusanagi bundle has been created in the PCF.Controls repository to improve the management of JavaScript assets.   • Feature Highlights on Login – A pop-up notification will display key updates and newly released features when users log into Altus for the first time.
  • Interactive Information bubbles – Clicking on an info icon provides a short video or a direct link to relevant documentation.
  • Step-by-Step Interactive Guides – Walkthroughs are available to guide users through new features and workflows.

New Project Experience:

  • You can now create Planner Premium projects directly from within Altus.
  • The project creation process has been simplified, allowing you to create Planner and Planner Premium projects without needing to create a group initially. Groups can be created later when collaboration or task assignments are needed.

Upgraded Sync Process:

  • Planner Premium now requires zero setup and is included out of the box with every Altus deployment. It can be disabled in settings if desired.
  • Planner and Planner Premium projects synchronise their data seamlessly whenever the Project Manager navigates to the project, ensuring up-to-date information in just a few seconds.

Timephased Support:

  • When using an Altus project connected to Planner Premium, the timephased features of the Resource Plan, such as Create Plan from Schedule and the Schedule Column, utilise the assignment-by-day information maintained in Planner Premium.

PBI #30297 On the project resource plan, we have added a new column that shows the number of scheduled hours in the current project for a resource in the schedule. Based on this information the user can adjust their proposed hours to cover what the effort planned in the schedule.
Group and overall totals will then present the total unique resource schedule hours to ensure you have coverage overall for the resources in your plan.
The scheduled daily hours will be honoured when the proposed hours are changed to ensure the hours match what is scheduled.

For existing customers, the grid will still use the built-in Altus form if the quick create form is customised and will honour the finance form Altus settings if specific forms are already configured to override the built in one.
